I started using web dating sites to meet new people circa 1996, when BBS’s were still all the rage. (Yes, I am a proud former modem-er!) Since then, I’ve lived in various communities and have met over numerous people through web dating sites for various purposes: to make new friends in communities where I knew no one, to date when I’d never had a date before (obviously not the case now), to find a partner, start a family (my first BBS meet bore a daughter, although her Dad and I are no longer together), and just generally have a grand ole time.
